Default Change of plans

After spending a week getting one of the bikes ready for the 4000Km trip to Monaco the weather went to hell. At 59 years young there is no way that I am going to set off riding in the rain.

So Thunder with his shiny new black paint job gets to go on the road trip. I will cut the trip down form 4 days each way to 2 and miss the Oysters in the South of France but I will get a few chances to photograph Thunder in appropriate surroundings.

The great thing about a 18 year old Corvette Hot-Rod is that it requires no ¨getting ready¨ for the trip. Just jump in and go. The beast will get me there and back in style and probably whoop some Porsche @ss on the way.

Thunder does have one worry... The garage where he will sleep is known as the ¨garage with the most Ferrari's on earth¨, (57 F cars live there), and he gets gas when he eats too much Italian food.

Please watch the entire race and keep you fingers crossed for our drivers in GP2, (the feeder - warm up) event for F1. We bring up young drivers and give them a shot at ¨real racing¨. This year almost 1/2 of the GP2 lineup got their start with RE.

That is enough. It is 2:26 A.M. and I need some sleep before driving 1/2 way across Europe.

Just walked in the door.
On the last leg of the trip I did 1200 Km.(720 miles) average speed 93MPH including gas/food/pee stops. Thunder did 24 MPG average over the whole trip.
I will try to get some pics up in the morning.

We had a bit of bad luck. A wheel failure after the pit stop. About $80K damage to the car for our #1 driver and the #2 driver crashed after 20+ laps of hard racing with one of our arch enemies.

Thats why they call it racing.

Geez, tough luck.

$80K in damages? Sounds just like a day in my garage.
