I have an HP Pavillion notebook computer. I was gone a couple of days, so I turned the computer off before I left. Now, when I push the power button to turn it on, NOTHING happens. I tried it with battery only, as well as hooked up to the external power. Any ideas on this? Is it time to send it back to HP for repairs?

Jim,

I'd send a PM to 'Dre if he doesn't come across your post shortly on his own.

I spent a while on the phone with HP tech support. I have to send it in for repair.

First thing to try with a dead notebook is to remove the battery and then plug it into the charger to see if it boots.

Bum batteries can cause a similar situation.

and also the RAM (won't boot, but if the RAM is shorted it'll power up).

I tried with battery, without battery (on charger), tech support had me remove the chips and the hard drive, etc. Nothing worked.
