Default Z06 rims on C5 question

Just inquiring on Z06 rims for my 98 C5, and going from standard size rims 17x8.5-18x9.5 to 17x9.5-18x10.5 and the 265/40/17 & 295/35/18 if they fit with the backspacing and that there is NO rubbing. I was told that a Z06 is bigger in the wheel wells? I was also told there is no difference in the bold size between the models. Any info would be appreciated. I was thinking splitting the difference on the size 255/40/17 and 285/35/18???

No need to compromise, they will fit fine. Wheel wells are the same size, and the improvement in lateral grip and overall ride is great.
