I've got good news, bad news and a big ??? on my hands. I always like bad news first so here it goes.
The bad news:
We had to sell our Corvette and let me tell you, she was a beauty. 1988, Bright Red Z52 convertible. I'll never forget the day we picked her up from the showroom. We bought her used and brought her home. We spent time puting her back to factory condition; fixing the interior, buying her a new badge for her valve cover, patching and painting the holes in her rear end where some gorilla installed a wing. The worst day was when I had to change an inboard brake bulb. Every other day was spent in a state of bliss. She will be truly missed. I have driven a lot of corvettes from '58 through an '02, but this '88 was my first and will never be forgotten.
Please my friends, don't shed a tear just yet. Remember, I also bring good news.
The good news:
She went to a good home. Actually, a very good home. She has been kept in the family, so we'll still get to visit on the weekends and go for the occasional ride up the coast. Sure, it won't be the same, but it could have been much worse. I'm just happy knowing that she will be appreciated and kept shiny at her new home.
The ???:
Call it a
??? or call it a brilliant plan. The gears are in motion to find something with horsepower and plenty of room for a family. What's out there for a family man that wants it all?
Hopefully, I will have an answer to that question by this time tomorrow.
Until then...
