I know a lot of people may already have plans for the holiday coming up, I'm most likely going to make a trip over to Fall Creek Falls on Memorial Day, if anyone doesn't have plans yet and wants to go see it, let me know. I haven't decided on saturday or sunday yet, so if you want to go and can only make it one of the two days, let me know which one...although I'm leaning towards being there saturday, but my life is constantly subject to change. ;)

Charlie, you have a google/maps or mapquest link?
We're probably going to be going to Kentucky that weekend (finally!) but you never know if we might be able to take a detour.

Here's a write up on Fall Creek Falls and some directions....I'll post this and get back to looking to see what I can find as far as a map....
Fall Creek Falls State Park TN
(between Pikeville & Spencer)
Fall Creek Falls State Park is one of the most scenic destinations in the country. Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is the highest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. It is probably one of the most accessible falls in Tennessee. Also, nearby, are Cane Creek Cascades (Located right behind the visitors center), Cane Creek Falls (60 feet) and Piney Falls
From Cookeville (and folks coming from the west on I-40), take exit 287 (Hwy-111) and head south, through Spencer, to Hwy-284. Turn left and in a few moments you'll enter the Park.
For folks coming from the east on I-40, take exit 322, head into Crossville and turn left on US-127. Follow it south to Pikeville (about 29 miles) and turn right on Hwy-30. Follow 30 west, through Mount Crest, to Hwy-284. Turn left and in a few moments you'll enter the Park.
Folks coming up from the Chattanooga area should take the US-27 freeway to the exit after the Soddy-Daisy exit and turn left on Hwy-111. Then enjoy a leisurely drive with splendid views of the fall colors along this beautiful road, past US-127, to Hwy-284. Turn right and in a few moments you'll enter the Park.
Many folks enjoy attending their Mountaineer Folk Festival which is held each year during the weekend after Labor Day. It is co-sponsored by the Friends of Fall Creek Falls. And, late in October, when the leaves peak in color, is another especially great time to visit the Park. You can phone the Park's Nature Center at 1-423-881-5708 for a good guess on when the leaf colors will be at their peak.

Okay, mapquest isn't completely cooperating...it's putting a red star at spencer which is a little town next to fall creek falls...you find spencer though, you'll find FCF...lol.

Thanks Charlie. I'll run it by Phil to see what he thinks. I have a feeling it is going to be too far out of our way though...

I imagine if you stopped off at FCF it would need to take up most of a day for it to be worth it...although I haven't been there in a really long time, so I can't say for sure. Hope ya'll have a fun trip to to KY, are you going up to visit the land you bought?

Yep, we're planning a camping trip to the land, followed by a night of civilization at the Baymont. The kids won't let us get close to BG without a trip to the Baymont for some hallway and elevator war games :W
I'm looking forward to everything but the lack of toilets while camping :ugh
We should probably plan a separate trip for the falls. I think you're right about making it a whole day thing.

Hope ya'll have a great time...try to leave atleast part of the Baymont standing when you leave! :L
