Default October Dragon Run 2007

Hi all ya'll,

For those that made the May Dragon run and can't wait for Oct. and for those that didn't make the May Dragon run and will always wish they had, here is the Oct. schedule of other events in the area that might take up Fontana cabin space.

October 2007
10/04/0710/07/07Smoky Mountain Bike Week
10/06/07 Fall Fishing Tournament
10/21/0710/26/07Fall Colors Hiking Week

It looks like Oct. 13-14 is completely open. We should nail down a date and start negotiating cabin pricing.

I think Rascal Rascal 99 did such a fine job on this last Dragon weekend (except for the rain on Sat. and I think he should get another chance to get it right), I vote Charlie in as our fearless leader to make all the arrangements for the Oct. Dragon run also.

Thanks! Glad to know ya'll had fun in spite of mother nature.

I have some wheels turning already working on the fall trip and I think I'm looking most at the next weekend past what you posted, the weekend of oct 27th-28th...if there's some reason why that weekend doesn't work for you at all, let me know! Right now I'm waiting on a few answers on a couple of different things, I'll probably be posting something by early next week.

Hey Charlie,

Won't that be Halloween weekend? We would have to do the trick-or-treat thing with the grandson, BudMan.

Halloween would be the wednesday after that weekend...is there trick or treating on the weekend before halloween, then one I'd mentioned? I hadn't thought there would be, but being a non parent sometimes I don't know these things.

No telling what ya'll would have BudMan tryin to eat...I'm thinking this scenario is only going to be permissable if Koda comes along to keep you're butt in line.

That's what I'm afraid of...

Yep, your right Charlie, the wife just corrected me on the procedures of trick-or-treat.

Hey Steve, if your wife doesn't want to ride with ya in that new C6, we can all go pick her up at the airport.

What about BudMans!

I'm still waiting to hear on some things before trying to nail down the weekend, if the last weekend in october doesn't work out, I'll probably be trying to move it back one weekend to the 20th-21st.

While we're already talking about it anyways, I'll throw this out there...I'd like for the fall trip to be a day longer, something along the lines of meet n greet dinner thursday night, two days of cruising friday and saturday, one day for doing the whole loop out the foothills parkway, around the national forest and include cade's cove. The other day would be chasing down waterfalls...both days should give us a couple runs on the dragon as well. That would leave sunday for a farewell breakfast and driving home. If anyone wants to throw any idea's into the mix for this, feel free to speak up!

The prime and bussiest week for the fall colors is the last week of October.

Well durn it, I'll miss this one too! Looks like I'm going to sea again at the beginning of Oct. and will be out till the end of the year. Guess I'll have to make a run in Aug. or Sept.
