Welcome home to you brother. One tour was enough for me. Tah Nin, Bare Cat Pho Lho, Long Bien, War Zone "C" South of the DMZ.
In fact there is a section here for Military Service. Don't want to steal this thread.

Were you in the Dong Ha area when the ammo dump went up (June of '68 I think)? I was with a Seabee battalion stationed there when it blew. My college roomate was in the 1st. Air Cav camped about 10 miles south of there and has a great picture of the mushroom cloud.

I did not get up there until 69 some time. The weeks and months sort of all ran together over there until you became a short timer!I remember hearing about the fire, but I don't remember when it was.

Hi guys. I stumbled on this conversation a little late.
I was stationed in Dong Ha with the 78th maintenance unit in 1969. I was Sargent-in-charge of the MARS radio station which was located right next to the ammo dump that went up the year before. During the retreat late in 69 I relocated the MARS station to F.B. Nancy where I finished my tour in 1970.

I was in that area same time as you. I did mine sweeps from the fire base just north of Quang- tri up to Dong -Ha every day for the last few months that I was there.I think to myself what the hell were you thinking now!But at the time it was good duty, I had the rest of the day off when I got back. And I got back!
