oklahoma City Cruise
Just wondering what the interest would be in a one evening cruise here in OKC, some cool cars beer and Bar B Que might be in order. Let me know and I will work on setting it up.
I posted this in the C-3 forum but then though why limit it to C-3 so anyone in Oklahoma interested let me know and we will see about setting it up.

Here is what I put in the C3 forum,
Hello and thanks for the reply, 78Chevy I still work at Tinker but plan to retire in Jan 08.
What I though might be fun would be a run starting on Route 66 in Yukon, I can find a place for breakfast then run up Hwy 74 to Guthrie for an early lunch or drink its about 50 to 60 miles. Leave there and go east on 105 to 177 go south on 177 with a guick hich to 102 then back west on HWY 9 to a nice lake side bar and resturant I know for a late lunch or drink. Then we can go back to Norman campus corner, my house for a wrapup, or just take it to the house. Guthrie to the lake stop is about 75 miles and back to Norman is about 25. I won't promise lots of super scener but I bet its pretty and the roads should be fine. (I Hope)
This would be my first time planning something like this so any suggestions would be great. I was thinking about one of the first weekends in May so that we can be pretty sure of good weather, what those tops off for sure.
What do you think?
Let me know and in a couple days I will sent up a time schedule. Looks like we have about 5 to7 cars interested.

I'd come, but I live in Nevada. Oklahoma City is one of my favorite towns. Just thought I would chime in.

Paul,
As it turns-out, I'll be in New England that weekend, so I won't be able to drive down. But definitely post pictures or tell us how it went.:upthumbs

OK, for those you who's email address I have I sent this earlier in a email but wanted to post it here also in case others want to join us.
Lets meet at 0930 at the Jimmy's Egg on 39th and Portland, just a little west of the intersection on the north side. From there we will depart and go north on I44, Lake Hefner Parkway, Hwy 74. We turn right or east and take Hwy 33 about 15 miles into downtown Guthrie. When we get to Guthrie there are my suggestions, I believe that the Oklahoma Hotrod club is have a show in a Park, but I can get any confirmation on this, if the show is there we can stop and look at the cars if not I suggest we just park downtown and walk around for a while. From Guthrie we go east on Hwy 105 about 20 miles till we cross Hwy 177 turn south on Hwy 177 go thru Shawnee till Tecumseh and Hwy 9 about 45 miles. At Hwy 9 we turn back west till we get to Lake Thunderbird and Calypso Bay Grill about 20 miles (I know the turn off its easy to find). We then have lunch at the Grill. After lunch its back to Hwy 9 and home. Hwy 9 takes us right to I35 or depending on where you are going there are lots of turn offs to take you north. I live in Norman so everyone is invited to follow me to my house and have a beer or soda to end the cruise. Any comments would be great.

For those who missed it we had a great time, saw some hot rods in Guthrie and had a nice lunch on Lake Thunderbird, I will try and put another together sometime in the fall, of course not on a OU football game day but before it gets to hot. Had a great time and got to know some really nice folks!
