A Schaumburg man is dead after his Corvette went airborne after crossing Woodfield Road from National Parkway Sunday afternoon, police said.
Arthur D. Kozlowski, 28, of 413 Jason Lane, was pronounced dead at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village after crashing a 1999 Chevy Corvette around 2:36 p.m., Schaumburg police said.
Witnesses said the vehicle was southbound on National Parkway when it went airborne after crossing Woodfield Road.
It appeared Kozlowski lost control of the vehicle, then the driver's door struck a light pole on the west side of National Parkway, police said.
Kozlowski had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Schaumburg Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team, who is investigating the accident, at (847)882-3586.
