You might have read this before, but it's worth posting:
Montana Restaurant:
This is a great story! The radio station America FM was doing one of its
"Is Anyone Listening?" bits this morning. The first question was,
"Ever have a celebrity pull up with the 'Do you know who I am?' routine?"
A woman called in and said that a few years ago, while visiting her cattle
rancher uncle in Billings, MT, she had occasion to go to dinner
at a restaurant that does not take reservations. The wait was about 45
minutes; many ranchers and their wives were waiting.
Ted Turner and his ex-wife Jane Fonda came into the restaurant and
wanted a table. The hostess informed them that they'd have to wait 45
minutes. Jane Fonda asked the hostess, "Do you know who I am?" The hostess
answered, "Yes, but you'll have to wait 45 minutes."
Then Jane asked if the manager was in. When the manager came out,
he asked, "May I help you?"
"Do you know who we are?" both Ted and Jane asked. "Yes, but these folks
have been waiting, and I can't put you ahead of them."
Then Ted asked to speak to the owner. The owner came out, and Jane
again asked, "Do you know who I am?" The owner answered, "Yes, I do. Do
you know who I am? I am the owner of this restaurant and I am a Vietnam
Veteran. Not only will you not get a table ahead of my friends and neighbors
who have been waiting here, but you also will not be eating in my
restaurant tonight or any night. Good bye."
Only in America - what a great country.
To all who read this, this is a true story and the name of
the steak house is:
Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse, 204 W. Main, Manhattan , MT 59741
(406) 284-6929
If you ever get there, give this fellow a sharp salute, buy a steak and
tip the waitress. Keep passing this on. We should never forget our
national traitor! And let's not forget what "our gal" Hillary said to the
troops in Iraq: "This war has no support from the American public."

Yep, not a true story according to Snopes and Truthorfiction. There are several of these floating around and they use different places. Sir Scott's is the latest one. This has been floating for quite some time. Too bad it's not true. I do not care for Hanoi Jane.

There are lots of stories about Hanoi Jane. Some are true and others aren't. Unfortunately I was in Hanoi from 67-73 and, fortunately did not have the "honor" of having to meet her. Go USAF!!;)

There are many stories about Jane that are not true, but many are. She caused the deaths of american military members, and I will never forgive her for that.

My thoughts exactly. BTW, I just recently spent two weeks in North Viet Nam. It is a tourist haven and it is one of the few countries where they still like Americans!! We actually won the war. Capitalism rules, the entire North is electrified now, color TV's and Satellite dishes/computers in the most remote areas--and--my cellphone worked just about everywhere--even in the "territories' up by the Chinese border.:)
Jane Fonda had an appearance scheduled at Ruth Eckerd Hall in the Tampa-Saint Petersburg area last year. She had to cancel due to "scheduling problems". The truth was, she had only sold 3 tickets. :boogie

This is the first I've saw this topic at this site, I was drafted in 1969 and served with the Navy for four years active duty attached to 21st Naval Regiment, Mobile Construction Battalion 1, Alfa company and we served in a lot of places in SE Asia. I worked on repairing runways in different countries and built the first runway at the US base at Diego Garcia. Then in 1972 I was sent to Guam assigned TAD (Temporary Assigned Duty) from my Battlion to work with the 8th Air Force, 131st bomb group troops loading a B-52 bomber squadrons planes and transporting & assembling bombs for a offensive plan called Operation 'Commando Tour II', which ended quickly and then on to another operation, 'Linebacker'. The anti-war protesters were everywhere in most cities and airports, but it wasn't until I was in for like two years that I started to get 'Effected' by these zealous people. They were on the news all the time and always raising hell, I came home for two weeks when my mother died in 1972 and after landing at Edwards Air Force base I needed to go to LAX to get a commercial flight the rest of the way home. Again the demostraters were out in force and one woman anti war demostrator threw a jar of animals blood on a couple of Army soldiers and me. It was after I had to fly home to be met by my family with red blood all over my white dress uniform and after that this Jane Fonda women seemed to be on the television all the time. When your only 21 years old it's bad enought to have to be in an unpopular war, but to have this PITA Fonda making friends with the communist like she was going to a fr*&^ing cocktail party all the time that it really startes to get under your skin. I'll never forget or forgive her. She had no respect for us, and made it quite clear and I have no respect for her and I hope one day she finally decides to gather up her money and crap and find another country, maybe China to go live in. but in all reality, she rather stay here were she's protected by the very soldiers and sailors she so dispised only thirty years ago. I'm ashamed to be a fellow citizen, but I'm stuck with her.
