So I was taking the trash out early one morning....looked West and saw this breathtaking scene...

Of course I had to run inside and frantically look for my camera....the wife was convinced I'd finally lost my mind. :L

You can also see here the inspiration for the phrase "Purple Mountains' Majesty"...the sun reflecting off of the pine trees gives a purple-ish look. Add in the full moon setting at the same time....most definitely a Kodak Moment.

The coolest part...as luck would have it the Lunar Gods are giving us a full moon on June 30 2007...the day most folks will be rising early to head home after CruiseFest! :D

This is something that just has to be seen in person to appreciate its beauty...and those that attend CruiseFest this year have an excellent chance to do just that!

Sorry - I just couldn't pass on that. :chuckle

Great photo! But where's the Vette? You usually have it somewhere in your picture....

It also looks like you live near my son's house (Air Force) on the NE corner of "Da Springs. Great place to visit! I hope to be there for the CruiseFest but still not sure if I'm going to drive out or not - it's 24 hours on the road from here in central New York state.

Well the camera was sitting on the roof of the Grand Am in the driveway...the Vette is just to the right tucked away in the garage. There wasn't time to set up that kind of shot...it was just one of those "get my camera...NOW!"

Yes I live on the East side of the Springs, almost within walking distance of the Imax theater on Powers.

One of my favorite commercials is a little girl and her father sitting on a hillside watching a beautiful sunset. Father tells her in a soft voice watch it, watch, watch... and the sun slowly disappears beneath the horizon - at which time awestruck little girl turns to father and whispers - "Do it again, daddy."

Priceless!!

Your photo of the moon setting over the mountains instantly reminded me of the commercial. ;)
