Not trying to be cute here but here's my answer....download Mozilla Firefox and quit using IE, As far as the answer to the other question....download Mozilla ThunderBird and do away with OE. I have not used those two Microsoft products in over 5 years.

1. How I get rid of "Internet explorer problem".
2. What is procedure to stop all incomming e-mail addresses from ending up in my address book???? Can you elaborate / give specifics on the problems you are having?

(Switching to Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/) isn't a bad start, and it can coexist peacefully with IE)

What exactly is the problem you are having with IE? What specifics steps have you taken to alleviate the problem?

What email program are you using?

Outlet express email

Internet explorer.
Reads as follows....
IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry.

Please tell microsoft about the problem.
Choices:::::
DEBUG or
SEND ERROR REPORT or
DONT SEND

Any choice ends with no results.
Click SEND ERROR REPORT It then reads error report complete.

Next function and next function and next functon.
it starts all over

There are a number of solutions to a number of problems like spyware BHOs. Google is your friend...

However, if you just want the messages to go away, go to control panel, system icon, advanced tab, click error reporting button, click disable reporting.

What version of IE are you running? (Not that it matters all that much...)

67Heaven found this site which seems pretty reliable at fixing things on the PC, especially things that get goofed up due to or relating to the internet. It is a free service to scan and fix errors on your system that pertain to virus, spyware, and other nice things of the internet.

Are you by chance still running Windows 98 ? with all the updates I haven't had a popup problem at all in Win XP. The problem is common in windows 98. If you are still running 98 I recommend moving to XP.

If you are still running 98 I recommend moving to XP.....only if you get a new(er) PC to go with it.

If he has still has Win98 on a system, then it probably will not have the horsepower to handle XP in any of its forms. Having 512MB of RAM was almost unheard of in the Win9x days. Even if he does manage to have 512MB, it's likely going to be PC133 memory (or slower) and a comparably slow processor and harddrive. XP will be almost unusable at that point.
(My unsolicited 2¢ ...but I do this stuff for a living. :cool)

I do agree with you . It all depends on if he can upgrade the system enough for minimal cost to handle the xp. Something I failed to point out.
I have had systems with 500 Mhz and 512 PC 133 that ran better than with the 98 with no problems.Nothing real fast but I couldn't say it was any slower than the 98 with 128 mb.
The bottom line , for what a basic system now costs. A new system is really the way to go.If money is a real factor, buy only the system and use the old monitor and printer.

I fried my 3rd hard drive in 2 years in Jan. I also had to replace the modem twice during that time. I looked at reman towers for about $460.00 at various places. I found a company that builds systems from scratch and they put together a new computer with a 17" LCD screen, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, for $660.00. The system had XP home on it anti virus etc. The specification are Processor & Memory Celeron 2.6 GHZ - 512 MB DDR -80GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD combo drive, 56K modem,

I came to the conclusion that my power source was spiking power and since the unit was over 5 years old I did not want to dump any more money chasing the problem with replacement parts.:CRASH
