My Corvette(s):
Default C2 Front End Repair Issues

I have been in the market for a mid year for awhile and have become acutely aware of the number of front end repairs on most of the cars out there. I would like to know the tell tale signs of a repair other than the obvious bad headlight buckets, etc. One area of concern is underneath the fender lip inside of the engine compartment along the hood opening. What is the original factory finish in this area? I have had sellers tell me atheir cars have never been repaired and that this area is where the top fender piece is joined and even from the factory this overlap is visible. I have looked at some pretty original cars and have not noticed this situation. Any pictures of the original fenderline and guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.
