Default rear speaker mounting in a 78

I purchased some rear speaker mounts for my 78 and Im not sure how they go in properly. Is there somebody out there that could give me some information to getting them properly installed. As i do not want to mess up the interior of my vette.

del,

Don't they go into the extreme rear corners of the rear compartment?

Are these factory replacement or custom?

I'm not sure what you mean by speaker mounts. If it's like my 82, there is a bracket assembly(speaker attaches to) and grill assembly. As Chris says, located in the rear corners. If the grills are carpeted it can be hard to see the attachment screws but they are there. Once the grill is off you'll see the light.

Let us know how you make out and how well they fit. Mine were removed and replaced by a boom box by a previous owner. I would like to go back to the original set up.

We just mounted replacement speakers in our '79. There were metal supports factory riveted to the fiberglass. If you have those then the factory housings can screw on in the back. Pull the carpet out of the way, get on your back and take a light with you.
