Default What are the correct seats

I have a 70 convertible with leather seats which I don't think are correct. Most 70's I see have the seams going front to back, mine go side to side. Also I have shoulder belts and I think they are suppose to go through a slot in the back of the seat. Anyone know what is right? Since I intend to redo the interior this winter I might as well get it right.
I love reading all the posts, you guys are a wealth of knowledge!

Believe that the vinyl seats had the front to rear seams while the leather had side to side seams. The shoulder belts should go through the seat backs.

Thanks Tom, I'm going to try my hand at redoing them this winter.

1970 and71 Vettes had leather seats that had seams that ran lengthwise. 1972 had panels that went side to side. The shoulder belt did run through the back of the seat if you have them, they were an option on convertibles.
