My Corvette(s):
'82' Silver Blue
Default High start idle

When I start my 82 cf(cold) it idles at 12-15 hundred rpm. It takes about 5 min.without driving it before it finally idles down to 5-6 hundred rpm. Is this normal? It seems if I take it out and drive it, it seems to take longer before it slows down. I had it out today, and probably drove for 15-20 minutes and it still wasn't idling down. Short time later it was idling OK. Of course when it's idling fast, it jerks when you put it in drive and the "better half" doesn't like the jerk !

Mine does the same thing. It started about 2 weeks ago, when the weather started getting cooler. I believe its the choke that is doing it. Im not sure how to fix it, it did the same last winter. I just sorta ignore it, when you start it up, sometimes if you let it warm up a little, rev it very fast to about 2000 rpm. Thats kicks mine down to about 900 rpm.
good luck
