Anyone with Reservations at Ramada Limited in Carlisle!!!

If you have reservations at the Ramada Limited in Carlisle, call the hotel immediately!! They are overbooked and are moving people into other hotels, and not all of them are close to the fairgrounds!!! 717-243-8585

Yes, we did get bumped, Peter. We are being moved to the Appalachian Inn in Carlisle, but we were able to work it out ok. The Ramada is paying for our first night, and I was able to confirm that Ramada Worldwide will pay the difference in room rates. I had to push for that information, though.

When we booked at the Ramada, we knew immediately that it was a mistake at $59.95/night! Obviously, the Ramada in Carlisle just figured it out. They called us today and said they had just received the reservation (yeah, right!!). What they should have said was "we just realized that you got the rooms at a mistaken rate"!

I knew the room rates were too good to be true! It all worked out ok for us, though some people are being told they're being moved to a motel in Hershey (40 miles away!). Yikes!

well that sounds like a call to the attorney generals office to lodge a complaint is called for. or the home office too... I hope the hotels they transfered you to is acceptable.

The first thing I did was call Ramada Worldwide, told them the whole story. They said "they're not supposed to do that kind of thing, but as long as they're getting you rooms elsewhere, there's not much we can do". I told them the cost per night wasn't the same $59.95. That's when they gave me the instructions on obtaining reimbursement which I'll share with anyone who has been caught in this same situation.

I've already contacted the Attorney General's office but expect that Jim Martley will do an even better job with them than I did!

We're staying at the Appalachian Inn, which I've heard is clean and that's all we really want.
