HOT New Item - Big Mouth Air Dams
A HOT new item for C4 and C5 Corvettes! The BIG MOUTH Performance AIR DAM!
Advanced Automotive is the newest dealer for the Big Mouth Performance Air Dam, and we're happy to showcase this exciting new product...
What it is...
The Big Mouth Performance Air Dam is an easy to install , almost out of sight way to significantly increase air flow into your engine compartment. It is an effective means of lowering coolant temperatures as well as adding performance, plus quickening coolant recovery time with the dramatic increase in colder ambient air. (Shown below with optional color-matching)
Corvettes equipped with oil and transmission coolers benefit even more by having increased airflow to all 3 cooling systems with just one inexpensive and simple to install component. As we all know, lower fluid temperatures mean higher dependability and performance. The Big Mouth works hand in hand with existing air induction systems by increasing the cold static pressure. Plus the BMAD helps prevent water contamination and road trash from entering your radiator system.
[b]The Big Mouth Performance Air Dam is constructed from heavy gauge aluminum which has been formed to an optimal performance configuration in order to maximize usable cold airflow. The Big Mouth presents an extremely low visual impact of less than 2 inches with a modest 15° profile angle. Its unobtrusive design allows you to maximize the cold air flow to your engine compartment , therefore decreasing coolant temperatures a minimum of 3 and as high as 10 degrees, plus speeding up all coolant's recovery times depending on your set up.

BMAD developmental testing has shown marked increase of CFM (cubic feet per minute) in directed Cold airflow to the radiator of C4 and C5 Corvettes under normal driving conditions. The airflow increases as acceleration increases, lowering coolant temperatures for greater protection and dependability even under heavy performance conditions. Another benefit is the BMAD will enhance the performance of your cold-air setup.
(a personal note from Robert)
I wouldn't sell them if I didn't believe in them myself, as you can see from the picture below... installed on my personal '92 driver. VERY nice look!

Special forum pricing for all CAC'ers is set at $139.99 plus shipping (Available colers are black or white). Color-matching is additional, PM for details. Thanks again to the CAC community for your continuing support!

Robert,
Do you have any pics of the air dam on a C5?
Thanks,

I have a question or two
Do these come in colors or do they need to be painted?
Do you have a link to install instructions for the C5?

Do all come with the words Corvette printed on them? I personally do not like that...

They come in either black or white. They are also available color-matched to your Vette's color (using the GM color code), but at an additional charge.
You have the option of different decals installed, or none at all. My personal preference is the red Chevy Bowtie, but everybody's taste is different.

One more ?, have these been tested for wet weather friendliness?
Thanks,

If you mean "Can I drive through deep puddles with impunity?", I wouldn't recommend it. You can drive with these in the rain with no consequences, but common sense prevails....Corvettes are bottom feeders (air wise), so you can't drive through standing water any more than you could without a BMAD. Most owners don't drive in the rain for the most part, but you can if you want to. In other words, they are wet weather friendly.

Cool, that's the part I wanted to hear. I never intentionally drive mine in he rain. But then everytime I drive to Bowling Green it seems I attract torrential downpours.

I am still trying to find some good frontal closeups pictures and the install instructions. The link at the top of this thread does not work.

Installation is pretty straightforward. No online instructions are available, however I can answer any questions you might have about installation.
The pictures I've uploaded are all I have, so they'll have to suffice.
The "link" you were referring to was a coding error in the text, no link (sorry).

I have the A&A kit with a Be cool radiator/stock fans/160 deg thermo on my car.... it ran hot all the time... recovery time's after WOT runs totally sucked...
NOW, I am running the front screen unit that takes the place of the license plate cover. I am also using the Big mouth Air Dam underneath my car which scoops cold air from below and directs it IN BETWEEN the radiator and condenser... NOW, The face of my radiator gets a big blast of COLD air that didnt go through my intercooler and AC condenser. My temps dropped 30/40 deg across the board as a result. Recovery times from WOT runs are fantastic...
Big mouth air dam can be found here.... www.advancedautocc.com
screen unit can be found here.. http://www.corvettec5.com/store/?pag...egory_id=a07b3 49af0f3914d53ae2675c9cb237d
Buy both... put them on... end of all the problems... ching.. ching...
