Carlisle
This will be my first time going to Carlisle, managed to get a room at nearby
(17 miles) Enola for Fri and Sat.
Kind of a last minute thing,we have to go to Lancaster for a relatives funeral on Monday.
So,extended the weekend and the wife and I are leaving very early Friday the 25th,cant check into the room until 3pm maybe earlier,if the room is availble, but I expect to get to Carlisle around noon,if not earlier.
(about 5 hour drive from northern CT)
I was wondering, where and if any other CAC members are going to meet etc. Also anyone really looking forward to the burnout show Friday at 4pm.
Being this is my first time at Carlisle, any feedback on what to expect, look for and anything else,as always would be greatly appreciated.
Later, Ken

Ken,
Coming from the north on I81, Follow these directions and ignore anything that says "dinner."
http://webpages.charter.net/ggwright/Frontstreet.htm
The last instruction that says Gate 3 is on the left - it is, but note the sign "5 miles to Carlisle".
Enola is not very far away from the Holiday Inn we get together in the evenings. It's right at the intersection of 581 and rt 11.
See you next week.
Guy

Great directions Guy,
I tried to book reservations online, just for a laugh at the Holiday Inn in Mechanicsburg, last night, but as could be expected, everything booked.
We were lucky enough to get the Enola Quality Inn,at such late notice.
Look forward to tipping a few "liquid refreshments" at the Legends,in the Holiday Inn,Friday night, probably
Saturday also.
What time do you all meet up there, and anywhere in particular?
Thanks again, see you next week. Ken

Forget that,I just managed to get a room at the Comfort Inn,for the 2 nights in Mechanicsburg, closer to the fairgrounds, and right down the road (1 mile per mapquest) from the Holiday Inn. Cancelled the Enola reservation.

Ken,
Although I posted 7pm, some of us will get there between 5 & 6.
The best way to get to the hotel is follow those directions backwards and get on I81 north.
Go 1 exit which is 581 ( think it only goes one way - to the right).
Take the rt11 exit. It might say Carlisle Pike.
Take a right at the light (Rt11).
You can see the Holiday Inn and it's right at the light into the HI parking lot.
It's only about 3 miles down 581, but be careful since near Rt11 you have to get in the right most turn lane.
You can always folllow someone too. Just ask at the official-unoffical CAC canopy.
As soon as you pass through Gate 3, go straight and look for these 2 plates about 40 cars on your right:
Both silver C5's
Make sure you look at the map:
http://webpages.charter.net/ggwright/remoguy2006.bmp
I'll be selling my world famous C5/6 Cup Holders in the venor area and depending on how sales go will determine when I leave for the hotel.
Stop by when you go walking if you aren't too overcome with all the fiberglass:

Guy - After all that typing, scratch that.
