View Full Version : Carlisle - The Back Way In & Where to Meet
First - directions for the back way into the Carlisle fairgrounds.
If you have been in the fiberglass traffic jams in the past, you will love this
nice country drive in and out of the fairgrounds:
http://webpages.charter.net/ggwright...directions.htm (http://webpages.charter.net/ggwright/carlisledirections.htm)
Ignore "Dinner" on any picture.
Watch your speed, enjoy the scenery and of course, get there early.
Second - The "official-unofficial" :CAC Where to meet at Carlisle thread:
For the 4th year in a row CACers can use Guy & Remo's shade tent (across from the car wash) as a central meeting place. We will be set up near the same area (front row this time) ROW IO : http://webpages.charter.net/ggwright/remoguy2006.bmp just inside Gate 3
about 30-40 spaces in. Do NOT look for the NCRS tent this year - it moved.
UPDATE: I received my Carlisle map today and our row IO once again IS for NCRS members only. If you are an NCRS member, park in IO, if not, park as close as you can and call our spot your HQ.

Guy,
These directions were very helpful last year and saved me lots of time.
In previuos years I sat in traffic from the off ramp to the fair grounds.
Thanks, Mark
Guy, there is various construction projects in the area this year, none should be a real big headache, but RT 114 going both directions gets slow at RT 11.
Everyone have a great ride, I'll see ya when you get here

Ron - We saw that on the way home from CruiseFest last month and it's going on the 2nd year? When we head for the Holiday Inn in the afternoons, starting last year, we jump on I81 north for 1 exit to 581 since that takes us right into the HI and avoids that construction and Rt11 lights.

only Corvettes are allowed on the show field, if you are really worried about dings you can park on top of the hill.

Don't worry. Just think of this as a GIANT cruise night at the local Burger King. ;)

PAVING ON RTE.944 !!
Beaware they are paving Rte.944. A freind of mine just traveled that route and was driving on wet tar. Traffic was backed up in both directions. I don't think they will be working on Saturday but definitely on Friday.

Exit at Rte.641 (exit 49) of I-81. RH at end of exit ramp. Follow to the main square of Carlisle(about 2 miles or so) and turn right on to N.Hanover. Follow several blocks to Rte 34/Carlisle Springs Rd. Fairgrounds will be on your right.
