2005 Black 6-sp Coupe
Default Diagnostic Display (DTC), Possible on C6?

Hey Ya'll!

I made it! I finally made it back into the Corvette family after selling my '03 "yellow" Z-06 a few years ago and just bought an '05 "black" 6-spd & nav C6. I kept reaching for my keys for the first few days, but it's all coming back! I guess once you own one, you never forget the feel, right?

Question: On the C6 Corvettes, is it possible to activate the on-board diagnostics to display any trouble codes on the IPC? I know on the C5's you could check trouble codes by:
1.) turning on the ignition, not the engine (with your key)
2.) Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages
3.) Press and hold "options" button....and
4.) while holding "options" button, press "fuel" button four times within a
10-second period.
This would kick in the "automatic" diagnostic mode and show each module's DTC's (trouble codes) in a pre-sequence, then you could scroll back in a manual mode to check one item at a time (if any). This use to be a great tool when shopping for a used C5 Corvette or having to take it in for service.

So, is this possible on the new C6's???

NO you can not unless you have a GM scanner.
