My wife drives a C6 Coupe and LOVES it (not as much as she loves me, but close, maybe). Her car has very little interest to me--too slow. I drive a C6 Z06, and also love it, but still consider selling it (and keeping my C5 Z06) because the C6 isn't that much more fun to drive than the C5.... Also the C6 is DSOM and attracts a lot of attention, which doesn't suit my personality. But I probably will keep the C6, because I like the modern looks and electronics.
So to your question a little bit, No, there's nothing wrong with the cars at all, but different people like different cars. Also, there were probably LOTS of C5 cars for sale within a couple years after debut--normal human tendency to regret, change mind, get bored, need money, etc.

Most people get these cars and only use them as the weekend driver, not the daily transportation. So they tend to have very low miles. I drive my C6 often and only have just under 15k on the clock. When I bought it used in Oct it had 9k, so I have put on less the 6k and I think I drive mine more than most. It is an awesome car, I would not be concerned about any problems as long as you get a clean CarFax on the car. I am a firm believer in buying it used and letting someone else take that big drop in worth the first or second year. My car was a leased car returned after 1 year with only 9k miles. The car has everything and the sticker was just under $55k and I got it for $42.4k.

The average annual mileage for a Vette is stupidly low. I remember seeing the number recently, but don't remember exactly what it is, but it's well under 10k. It's not surprising that looooow mileage C6s are available.

RickM just ran a thread recently about driver's age of C6 corvettes. this my have something to do with your answer-Number one Avg age grp of Corvette drivers(this was taken in the C6 section so I guess it represents the avg C6 driver:

1. 50-59 yrs old own and drive corvettes = 44.25%;
2. 40-49 yrs old own vettes and drive it 23.03%.

since this is the bulk of drivers at these ages, I would bet as in my case that most, if not all, have more than one car and the vet is not the daily driver in most of those cases. Sure, I love driving the vette the most, but some days I just want a change-for whatever reason; rain, threat of rain, where I'm going that day, i.e. the general area, parking, roads; don't feel to good that day for whatever reason, etc. etc.
just my .02 cents...

There is nothing wrong with these cars.
I think that some buy a new Corvette with large monthly payments and then bail out.

i get a new vette every 2-3 years and i only use them for corvette club events so i only put 4K to 6K a year on them. i will move up to a ZO-6 as soon as they become plentyfull enought my dealer will disconut one. we have a 04 impala and and a silverado 2500 so to keep the C-6 clean for corvette club events we drive these pieces.i must admit the C-6 get the best milage and i should drive it these days of high fuel prices. i just came back from the woodward ave cruise were we used my friends new ZO-6 and going from western PA to detroit we averaged 29 MPG running between 65-75 MPH
