Default Car Covers...whats the best?

Iam looking at either Wolf or Stormproof by coverking.

Was wondering if anybody has any insight on these before I order.

Whats the concensus on whats the best cover?

Iam looking for a good outside car cover. I have cats that jump up on my car constantly as well as tons of dirt, so dust is also an issue, as well as rain.

Thanks
Jeff

I have the Wolf Noah and would never think of looking for anything else. Mine did a winter in Cleveland with no protection but the Wolf cover and I was well pleased.

I also have the Wolf cover. The only thing is that it seemed to tear easily. I caught it in the window when I closed the door and got a nice 3 corner-grrh!

Is your cover a Noah? I cannot imagine tearing it ,if you had seen me stretching it on and off a few times when it had to be done in a hurry...
I am just happy they don't come in yellow.

I noticed that Noah has a three layer and a four lawyer cover, where did you get yours? And how many layers thick is it? Thanks

My Covercraft Noah...

http://www.autoanything.com/car-cove...roductInfoTabs

The outer layers, of bi-component polypropylene and polyethylene spunbond fibers, is naturally moisture resistant. Sheath core technology (each fiber has an inner and outer layer) assures the fabric is strong, yet soft to the touch. Snow, rain, dew, industrial pollutants, tree sap and bird droppings are kept away from the vehicle finish.

The unique 4-layer fabric construction includes a layer made of micro-porous film that acts as a dust and moisture barrier. Microscopic holes are smaller than droplets of water or dust, but large enough to allow moisture vapor to escape. Moisture resistant is not to be confused with “waterproof”. Noah covers will keep your vehicle dry except in a heavy rainstorm or prolonged exposure to steady damp conditions such as accumulated wet snowfall. With time, any moisture or condensation under the cover will turn to vapor and evaporate through the breathable fabric. The evaporation time will depend on the amount of humidity in the air and the time of day.

I also have the Noah cover. Bought it from MAD.

After 4 years it is in shreds. It is also not water proof (even when new) and in the winter it freezes to my car. Messed up the paintwork last winter when I pulled it off. It was again frozen to my hood and pulled 4"x 1" piece of laquer off. It also tears very easily, fragile stuff.

When it rains the cover lets water through and when I take the cover off I have the fabric texture pattern all over my car. Needs a washing after that.

Oh, yeah did I mention it says in the user instructions that the cover is not machine washable? So every summer I try to wash it with a garden hose but as it tears and wears so easily you really cannot use a brush without damaging it. Cannot get it clean in one piece so the dirt ends up on my car

Need a new cover now but will not buy another Noah. Really disappointed with it. I bought the another popular type (cannot remember the name) to my dad 3 years ago and his cover is still like new. I think I'll try that one next.

Thanks for the honest opinion. As I will be useing mine in the Hot Texas summers and the Freezing rain as I drive my Vette to work and it sets outside at work but is in the garage at home and it still is not faded and still looks new. I was told that Noah changed the way they make them, was yours a three or four layer? I want the best onw as the hail in Texas will chip the paint.

I did dig through my paper work. Did find the original users guide, warranty card and even receipt. None of them said anything about how many layers there is. But it was the best available at the time at $149.99. The slogan was something about "Wolf barrier fabric".

EDIT: I also checked my old MAD catalogues and they do not tell how many layers there is in Wolf fabric. In any other cover it is mentioned but not with Wolf.

But doing the digging I found a cover called Evolution 4, I think that is the one I bought for my dad ($20 less). It is made by same people as the Wolf fabric. When I bought my Wolf it was advertised as superior to Evo 4.

Well, in retrospect I now believe that my dads cover has much better durability. Today his cover looks 100% like new, mine looks like it has been dragged after a car for 50 miles Also, my paintwork is now damaged and my dads is not.

It seems that the most expensive is not always better... I dont hate Wolf, it probably saved my car from 2.3 tons of bird droppings, but it really didn't live up to its advertising.

PS. my cover is still under warranty (5 year warranty) but as I live in Europe there it is no use. So, I will do some research and then order a new cover and donate my old Wolf to a fellow Vette driver here locally who has none.

Which Wolf is the one you got your Dad? Was it called the Evolution4? As there are so many on the market. I have looked at five different companies that have several different models and prices it has me wondering which one is right for outside, Hot and Freezing rain. Thanks again. Louis

You got it wrong: wolf is not the make, its type of fabric. So there is only one Wolf fabric, Evolution 4 and others are something totally different.

Kimberly Clark is the company that makes the Wolf and Evolution 4 fabrics we are talking about.

Thanks, Mid America Corvette and several other companies sell Kimberly Clark products, I will shop around and see where I can get the best price on the Evolution 4 cover.
