From Tom Urban:
One of the clubs I autocross with regularly in Maine is having two events in August and I am trying to drum up support for a corvette only class at either or both events.
August 6th the event is in Bath ME (approx ½ hour NE of Portland). This date and location is confirmed.
August 20th the event is in Westbrook (right next to Portland). This date and location has not yet been confirmed so it may change. I will keep the info updated however.
All cars are welcome and will be classed according to normal SCCA Solo 2 rules and will run as non-members in their respective classes. All corvettes will also run in a corvette only class. In this class all cars will be PAX’d according to SCCA Solo 2 classes to adjust for differences between cars. The corvette class will hopefully have its own trophies in addition to normal class trophies.
Check out the club’s website http://www.cumberlandmotorclub.com (http://www.cumberlandmotorclub.com/)
The events run rain or shine (within reason) but are NOT pre-registration. Cost for non-members is $25, however, if a group of 10 cars is present those participants will get the member rate of $15.
CMC is a great group that I’ve run with for 6 years and autocross is great fun and these are low pressure events. They run a good event and many have mentioned they’d love to see a group of the great American sports car.
