Default Middle GA C4 Oxygen Sensor Replacement Help!

Hey everyone in Middle GA!

I am in dire need of replacing the O2 sensors on my '96 LT1. A buddy of mine and I took the Corvette to a local hobby shop, got the car up in the air, and came to the conclusion we needed to drop the exhaust to change the sensors.

However, I have heard you do not need to drop the exhaust. I have also heard stories about people changing these things in a matter of an hour or so. The FSM simply says - remove heated oxygen sensor.

Maybe I didn't have the right tools for the job? I have the special socket for 02 sensors, but how in the heck does one fit the socket in the tiny spaces where these sensors reside? Much less the wrench for the socket...

If there is anyone here in the Georgia area who has experience replacing these things, I will gladly come your way and bring along the food and beverage of your choice as payment for your assistance.

Geof

You don't need to drop the exhaust.

The driver's side is a snap. The passenger side is a lot tougher as you seem to have discovered.
