UPDATE! CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN!
Bruce
Wachusett Mtn Area Mini Cruise – central MA
This Saturday, June 10, from about 10:30 to 3pm.
The weather should be fine this weekend, so we thought we’d head out to the Wachusett Mountain area, take in the scenery, stop for lunch, and tour a brewery. Anybody wanting to meet up with us is most welcome.
Meeting Place:
Johnny Appleseed Rest Area (no kidding) on Rt 2W…. about 10 miles West of 495… just before Exit 34 (Mechanic St in Leominster).
We’ll be there from 10:30 to 11.
Our plan is to make three stops:
1. Wachusett Mountain off Rt 140 S (Exit 25). There’s an easy paved access road to the top of this small mountain with some great views of the countryside… admission is $2.

2. The Old Mill Restaurant -- we’re going to need a bite to eat. The paved parking lot behind the restaurant is quiet with lots of room.

3. Wachusett Brewery Tour – Take a tour of this fine, local brewery right down the street from the Old Mill… sample their fresh brews.

The mountain, restaurant, and brewery are all within a few miles of each other, and approximately 15 miles from the meeting place.
