My Corvette(s):
1974 Metalic Blue L-48 Coupe 4 speed
Default Service Shop Manual for my 74

HI,

I've called my GM dealer this afternoon and I asked about buying a service shop manual for my 1974 Corvette.

the guy told me that the service shop manual would cost from 200$ to 300$.

Is the guy ripping me off ? Seems to be a bit expensive just for a book.

I've seen some service shop manual on e-bay for 40$ but they not only include my car but camaro's Nova's etc ... so i'm not sure if it's the right book.

Can someone help me with this. What is the correct service shop manual that I should buy for my 1974.?

The guy wants to rip you off. You need the 1974 Passenger Car Shop Manual, which includes the Corvette information. Available from Helm, Inc. (www.helminc.com).

I sold my '74 big block and ran across the service manual which I no longer need, also have paper parts book and assembly manual... make you a package price. Also have the AIR system on the shelf if your is missing. Check your air cleaner rubber seal (to hood) I think I still have one in it's wrapper.

Go to www.ncrs.org, click on the store logo and then your year and buy yourself a reprinted GM Service Manual for your car. Quite a reasonable price and it is FAR better than Haynes or Chilton manuals. Do it when they open at 9 am and I bet it will be in today's mail.
