My Corvette(s):
1985 Metallic Blue Coupe
Default 1984 front spoiler Help

My 1985 coupe did not have a front spoiler when I purchased it.
I ordered a new spoiler and hardware from Mid America but......
What does the center spoiler piece mount to?? It appears that either the center piece that the spoiler mounts to has been removed or cut as there is no way to attach the new spoiler (center portion)
Does anyone know the piece I need to order?? Summer is coming and I really would like to get the spoiler installed.
Thanks in advance!
Gary

I think that's called the lower radiator baffle

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1430

and then there is metal trim that goes either under or over it

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1440

and the spoiler screws into this. There is also what they call a radiator "grill" which is mounted on the skid plates:

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1463

and the whole shebang is held together with an s-shaped bracket and another bracket

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1431

You may be missing some or all of these parts, they all go toward keeping the front spoiler section from drooping.

Default Spoiled Spoiler

After you get your spoiler put back together, watch out for parking curbs, steep driveways, speed bumps, and the like, or you'll wipe out your new spoiler again! That long nose can get you in trouble very easily (the one on the 'vette, not the one on your face).

I trimmed about 3/4 inch off the bottom of my spoiler for the full width of the front end. It looks just fine, works just fine, and doesn't scrape driveways quite so easily.

Thanks for the advice, Im sure the previous owner would give me the same advice. I've got the parts on order. I'll keep you posted on the progress.
