Default Head Unit Connection

I have a Custom Autosounds Mfg head unit (USA-5) mounted in the original bezel. I have the problem that I sometimes loose connection between the head unit and the cd changer. I am guessing it is caused by the cable, on the end that is connected to the back of the head unit. I remember reading something about this in a previous post but cant find the information now. Can anyone help me with this? Its been a while since i took off the dash and i seem to remember there is little space behind it.

Thanks in advance
