So If some of you guys don't know me my name is Larry

I hang out in the C1/C2 section

My brother inn law just purchased the shell of a Camaro convertible that has a lot of rust in it need major work.

I am looking for some sources for parts, both used and new

Also i am wondering if there is an assembly manual available for camaros as we have for corvettes.

Saturday I was able to hang the body up on a rotisserie and will get some photos of the car as he got it.

Any other resource you can recommend will be greatly appreciated thanks Larry

Try Classic Camaro, they may be able to help. I do have the GM assembly book straight from GM that was copied for me but I have lost the contact person. 67 and 68`s are nearly the same. :)

I believe YearOne also deals with a lot of Camaro part.
Also, Jerry McNeish (of valve cover and intake reskinning fame) specializes in 1st generation camaros so he may be able to help with any hard to find parts or maybe even NOS parts instead of having to depend so much on the repro parts that we know always fit so well............

we made a material list for my brother inn law of what he needs in sheet metal to get the project rolling. Its a rust bucket but all the rusted parts are readily available.

He made a choice to purchase from some one fairly local to save on shipping because we are getting an entire floor that would have to come on a freight truck not ups.

I will take some photos once we start replacing some parts.

I was able to talk him into getting the car media blasted first, So we are waiting on that and for him to pick up the parts.

Classic Camaro, as Wally mentioned, was a great source for parts when I had my '69 (sold 3 years ago). They have a great color catalogue that is very helpful. I even applied for their Mastercard, and when I used it for purchases, shipping was free!
Also, be sure to visit this site: http://www.camaros.net
John Z may still frequent this site due to his '69 Z.
Good luck with the project!

Thanks again .

The car is media blasted and needs alot of tin to get rid of the rust.

I have to figure out how to support this car before i start cutting out the roten metal.
