Default Copper Metallic c4 rare?

Hi guys,ive just got myself another corvette,its an 86 tpi in rare copper metallic,according to the tech centre only 4 cars were made in this colour,its a genuine code 66,as im over here in the UK,i was wondering if this is true,and was there any reason why only 4 was made?

congrats on this very rare Vette.

yes if its a genuine RPO color 66 and VIN 1986 its a collector.

maybe not now but in several years it will be very hot in the market.

I cannot explain why copper was not sold many in 86,
I think people we more other colors minded that year.
as you can see in 87 RPO color 66 sold 87 pieces

maybe because color was rare in 86 or maybe because taste had changed and people liked that colour more.

Yes, congratulations. From just browsing here, the issue with the copper color seems to have been fading problems, and difficulty matching the color of the various panels at the factory.

I would be very careful to protect the finish so it doesn't exhibit those problems.

That looks like dark red metalic in the pictures.

..that is the 1994 shade - there was a different hue offered in 1986

Wow - Vettes seem to have an inexhaustible supply of trivia. I check in on every copper thread I see here and elsewhere, as it's a favorite, but still never heard of that. Cool.

So does anybody know if my shade is the correct shade for 86?Has anyone ever seen a 86 copper?
