hi all

I hate to post about a 'stang on CAC but............ I DID try posting this question on the Mustang forum but got no response.

my sister-in-law asked me to help her sell her pristine restored '67 Mustang convertible. I need to get the car here to my house. She hasn't driven it since last fall and this weekend she went to start it and the battery is dead. I'll run over tomorrow to take a look at te car, grab a lot of the numbers off it to decode them, etc so I might as well take a battery with me to save extra trips there, than to the auto parts store, back there again, etc.
I don't know Mustangs at all so have no clue what size battery the car takes and can fit.
Can someone tell me what physical size and series of battery I should pick up for the car on my way over so hopefully I can do everything in one trip.
All I know at this point is that the car is a '67 convertible with the 289 motor and auto tranny. I would assume all '67's probably used the same size battery??
Oh, I guess I also need to know if it would be a top post battery or not. (Did they even have side post batteries at all in '67??)

I'll probably go to either the Sears or the NTB or Pepboys that are near me to get a battery.

Thanks for any help.

Definitely top post. But, why buy one until you see if the current one will take a charge?

Ooooo, I think I feel dirty. :ugh Better wash my hands. ;LOL

:w Barry,

I printed a copy of this thread ;) My nieghbor (2-house west) is a Mustang and Hotrod nut... He has several Mustangs including a REAL BB Shelby Cobra, shaker hood and all, plus a 6? convert and a 2+2, and building a 2+2 for drag racing, tubbed, tube frame front end and 5?? something CID...

I'll let him take a look at your post, and maybe get back tonight or tomorrow with his thoughts...

AND for the record, his Mustangs are gorgeous and I'd take that Shelby any day of the week ;)

Bud

Bub
thanks, I appreciate it.
They had had three Mustangs and they sold the other two in the Fall. One was a '68 Fastback Shelby (clone) and I would have taken that car any day
