Default Wells VR715 Voltage Regulator - Works!

I installed the Wells VR715 micro-chip voltage regulator in my 1967 today and all seems well. I am getting 14.5 volts at the battery. It's hard to tell what the ammeter reads but I would guess +2 at idle and 0 with lights on. But that can be misleading as I haven't driven the darn car yet after winter storage and the battery may not be completely up to snuff. But it does not seem terribly out of line.

On the IPod stereo matter, I made some minor mods to the original 1967 tuning knobs and they have now replaced the rather garish plastic chrome thingies that came with the KHE-200 head unit. Looks much better.

Next is a new coolant overflow tank sitting beside me with all the clamps and bells and whistles. The pressure cap area is somewhat corroded and I am not getting the best of a pressure seal. So.....Barry, you have to stop giving me these ideas!

just like I tell Herb......... Don't blame ME. You're a big boy and make your own decisions.
Besides, I haven't done ANYTHING to my '65 in a few months to give you ideas.

I'm not sure but I can see Barry in a 1956. Sort of grows on me. The 2 x 4bbls is nice on a 265cid. Looks like a Carlisle August 2006 debut for him. Venetian red would do it for me.

sorry all, that was a definite typo that I just noticed and corrected.
BUT........ I'd LOVE to have any year '56 thru '60 in the garage!

Now that the '78 is almost done I'll be thinking about selling her and would love to finds another project car. I'd prefer a C2 or C1 but doubt very much I can afford one of those - even a complete basket case C1 or C2 are way too much money anymore but a '59 or '60 project car would be way too cool!

Barry,
Just curious. Now that the 1978 is completely tidied up why would you wish to sell it?

That typo may have been a Freudian slip.

Here's a local car that might fit the bill.

I think you are right. Herr Freud says there is no such thing as a slip and secretly I think Barry is a closet C1 guy waiting to come out!

A couple reasons.
One is I'd like to get another car to work on again. I'm really enjoying working on them and learning as I go. I guess I found a new hobby I enjoy
To get another project car I need room in the garage as I only have a 2-car garage so that means one of the two current Vettes has to go and NO WAY IN H*LL am I selling BABY.

Plus, I was working on a job prospect as I was working on the '78 but it fell thru so since I'm still unemployed I really can't afford to keep the car for Linda as I was hoping we could. She's a little disappointed, as i am, but she understands and knows that when the time is right we will be able to get her a "toy" also.
