Anyone going?

We went in 2004, and it was great.
This year we've vowed to get up at the crack-o-dawn to avoid traffic.

Can't wait to try out my new camera.

There's nothing like the sight and sound of FA/18's flying in close formation. Love that paint scheme (Electron Blue and Millenium Yellow). Paula and I are big fans of military air shows. Some of the best parts come earlier in the day when they send up a wide variety of aircraft to do solo demonstrations. And then there's the dreaded traffic jam trying to exit after the show. Bring some good lawn chairs, have some food and let the traffic clear out. Then head home.

Check six,

Just saw them last month here in Charleston at the AFB air show. Went to a social event the night before and got to hob-nob with the team. They had one of the F-18's on display. Close enough to touch. Very impressive show. Tammy, good luck trying to get pictures of anything other than planes on the ground. They were just too fast for me to get any decent shots with the digital. Enjoy!

You folks are lucky. I love the Blues. They fly the pants off of the Thunderbirds and usually there is at least 1 Jarhead on the team.

Have a great time.

I was fortunate enough to see the Blue Angles back in '94 at McGuire AFB. My fire dept. was asked to provide Mutual aid for the air show, and it was my first "special assignment" to boot. Our captain at the time was in the AF reserves with the bases fire chief. Needless to say, we had an in!!! We got staged next to the Angels flight line!!!!! We actually had a better view than the base's brass!!! What a rush when they fired up those F18's!!!

We saw the "Blues" fly here in Sacramento a month or so ago. Like Spanish said they are the best. The whole crew of "Fat Albert" the transport are jarheads.
Tammy, a tip for the digital camera, use fixed focus set to ∞. this will save the auto focus time.
Enjoy the show

The Blue Angels fly a performance every year for the US Naval Academy grads. They fly it over the Severn River off the Academy grounds and downtown Annapolis Harbor. NOTHING compares to seeing that show from the water. They are literally directly overheard. Weather permitting this year I'll post some pics from the river.

Hey Tammy..... if you're lucky you should have a couple F-22 Raptor's there from our Marietta plant that have been delivered to Langley AFB in VA. Maybe even the F-35 JSF proto too.

Post pics!!

Bill, I could've used that tip about 3 weeks ago. Anyway, I have the mental photos and got some good digital ones on the ground. Two years ago when they came through, I watched from in front of the narrator's stage with nothing but 40 foot of tarmac between me and the planes. They are indeed my preference over the T-birds. I've seen them both at least twice. BTW, I only took the one on the ground. I have a few more of the file photos if anyone wants them.
