The weather looks favorable for next Sunday's gathering of Vettes at the Hillcrest Chevy dealership in Salem, MA. I'm hoping many of you in the MA/NH area can make it!

Trying to talk JJS into going so I can have a cruze buddy. I'll PM him to see what his plans are.
Hey Ms. Diva...Any of you guys ever thought about doing a poker run? When I was stationed in California we would have poker rides on horseback through the desert. Had a blast. I think that same concept could be used to fashion a nice poker run one Sat this coming summer with all of the vette gang up here in NE. Maybe something along the lines of a nice drive up to NH or over to NY state through the mountains. What do-ya think??? Talk to you Sunday about it?

HD,
I think someone did put together a poker run through New England a few years ago. Since our area is so large for that type of activity, it's a bit difficult to put together and make it a one day event. However, I'll be more than happy to discuss and help promote. We'll open this discussion on Sunday!

I had a really good time at Hillcrest today. The weather was fantastic, and it was great to see everybody. I really enjoyed cuising down to Salem with H.D., and this is one event I'll definitely pencil in for next year.
I was really looking forward to meeting Todd, Guy and Remo, but it's still early in the season, and there are lots of upcoming events. I'm going to see if I can make that August event that in NH that Elaine was telling us about - I believe it's a two day event to fight cancer. -John

Obviously I was in a poor cell phone area today. Remo, our wives and I had a nice day trip to the NH Lakes Region. There is always the Gate City Show in May at the Bud Brewery in NH. The past three years the Corvettes Conquer Cancer is a one night dinner dance at the Nashua airport.
Glad you all had a good time at Hill Crest.

Great weather helped make for a great time--the 1st gathering of spring helps get the juices flowing. John, I have admired the avitar of your LT-1 on the small screen but I have to say the full size version is absolutely awesome--looks factory fresh. Your's and the black '69 tri-power were my 2 favorite cars at the gathering. I made a few rounds with my daughter but never ran into you, next time I am sure. If you ever decide to sell your car I have 2 comments--
1. You are insane
2. Call me first

Thanks for the compliments! It's a shame we didn't have a chance to hook up at Hillcrest since there were a lot of CAC members (Northeast) in attendance. Bill81Vette and his wife Gail drove all the way from Troy, N.Y. to attend.
I'll tell ya though, this morning I'm just thankful that my car is still in one piece! After the event my wife and I took a drive to fill up the tank. While on the way I slowed to avoid bottoming out on some steel plates a construction crew left in the road, and next thing I knew, tires were screetching from the truck behind me. The guy must not have been paying attention to the road until he was right on top of me, as he actually turned the wheels and went almost completely sideways to avoid rear ending me. I don't know how he missed us.

I gotta tell ya, I'm just thankful my car's still in one piece today. My wife and I almost got crushed while going to fill up the tank after I got home from the event yesterday. I slowed down to avoid "bottoming out" on some steel plates a construction crew put down over a work site in the road, and next thing I knew, the tires were screetching from the pickup truck that was in back of me. The guy must have had his head up his a** and by the time he realized I had slowed down he was right on top of me. He actually cut his wheel to the right so hard he was almost sideways in his effort to avoid hitting us. It was as close as I ever want to come to getting rear ended in the vette.

Welcome to greater Boston, home of the world's worse drivers. The Vette gods must have been keeping thier eye on you.

Hey gang,
Sorry I was not able to join you at Hill Crest this year. Guy and Dawn, Paula and I decided to take a drive up to the Lakes Region to one of our favorite places for lunch. http://www.millfalls.com/welcome.htm
For those of you going to the CAC Cruise Fest in Bowling Green - we'll see you there June 1st - 4th. Or if you're going to Carlisle in August we'll see you there as well.
Remo:cool
Thanks Elaine. I have to admit I was more than a bit rattled by it, but we're fine, the car is fine, and we had a good ending to a great day. -John

He was obviously taking an important call and didn't expect a Vette to be slowing down. Glad he missed you.
