Lincoln (Nebraska) group gives in man's memory
A group of Corvette owners from the Lincoln area has donated $2,300 in memory of Thomas "Moose" Varney Jr., 21, an Arnold, Neb., man who was shot and killed Jan. 1.
The money was given to the Arnold Community Building Fund by the Glass Pack Racing Team, a group of Corvette owners who compete in the annual Sandhills Open Road Challenge race in Arnold.
Varney was a participant in the race, driving his number "00" pickup. His father, Tiff, helped start the event.
Seth Strasburg, 27, has pleaded not guilty to a manslaughter charge in the death of Varney. - Paul Hammel
