General Motors unveils the Saab Aero X concept at a special event in conjunction with the Geneva Auto Show in Geneva, Switzerland Monday, February 27, 2006. Inspired by Saab's aviation heritage, the Aero X concept's opening canopy eliminates doors and windshield pillars. The all-wheel drive vehicle is powered by a 400-hp BioPower V6 ethanol-fueled engine. The concept vehicle also has weight-saving carbon fiber bodywork, a lightweight powertrain and electronically controlled suspension. Computer simulations anticipate zero to 60 mph/100 kph in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph/250 kph (limited). (General Motors/Olaf Gallas)
