I have looked for mine, but cant see it if is up there. My only other choice is to drop the tank down. I looked two different ways. I got under the car and took my drop light and checked out the top of the tank (passenger side). I reached up around the edges in the areas I could not see. I also took off the gas cap door and ring and tried the mirror and light deal but did not see anything. When I do the rest of the never ending jobs on this car I might muster up the energy to drop the tank and take a good look. What area of cleveland are you from???

Hi Joe,

I am from Avon. We have some great cars shows over here on the west side. Saturdays at Avon Commons (RT 83 and I90), and Sundays at Quakerstate and Lube (Detroit Road and I90) Are you a member of any club?

Your on the other side of the wicked lake. We have a few good shows on this side of town also. Super K in Mentor on Saturday nights from 4p until sometime 10p. I almost joinded Corvette Cleveland when I bought the car but backed out for a couple of different reasons. You have to be at a certain amount of Tuesday night meetings in Brookpark at 8:pm and they sometimes travel to far on the weekends. I like to stay local and drag the wife up to Mentor on Saturday nights. Take the lawn chairs and relax. It is fun to look at all the different cars. A few of the Vette owners usually get there a bit early so they can park next to each other.

When you are at the Cruise In at Avon , look for a red 76 , guys name is Bill, really nice guy.. tell him I said hi if you run into him..
Also there is a Blue Corvette running around there , rumored to be powered by a blender.

We have been pretty much dry since December 23rd but Sunday we got it from the south then it tuned into lake effect Sunday night....8 inches. Almost 48 years old and it's just a matter of time before we down size and head south. Snow use to be fun when I was a kid but I am ready for a change...

I found the tank sticker on my 79 on the front top drivers side of the tank. I didn't drop it or anything. I just jacked up the car and crawled under the rear end. The sticker was completely chewed up and covered in 27 years of dirt (not really much of a surprise there). I felt like an archeologist in trying to clean it off with a very soft bristle paint brush, but it just brushed away the print as well.
