Is it just me or does the unexpected joy of spending 2 hours washing the beast on a late January 60 degree New England day impart a sense of tranquility to any other CACers? It didn't hurt that I did some cathartic high speed blasts between the 2 pike exits near my house--let's just say I covered the 2 miles of seperation in something under 2 minutes and leave it at that. The karma is flowing--yesterday I drove the 60 miles to pick up my son at school and had 2 near misses. First, I drive through a 2 car speed trap on rte 2 doing 80+ and they pull over the car right in front of me. Second, when I turn onto the road that leads to my son's school a small car pulls out of a side road without looking and bam drives right into the pickup truck 2 cars in front if me. I'm thinkin' that the speed trap slowed me down just enough to not be the bammee of that stupid driver. I have to think that I have used up all my good karma for one winter interlude, me thinks the beast goes back to its winter home tonight.

It's 63 degrees in Maryland and washed the 85 coupe this afternoon. Felt like Springtime. If the rest of winter could only be like this :Twist

Actually, my normal modus operendi is following about a football field behind whatever monster SUV, Saab or Audi has decided to approach triple digit speeds on the pike and let them clear the mine fields of speed traps. So far so good but every method has its holes so its just a matter of time. The beast is back to sleep and so too will I be in a few minutes. Night night.

Absolutely beautiful Sunday here in the Great White North. It's so nice that I just came back from an hour's cruise in Heaven.
What a winter. :upthumbs

This weekend of auto erotica should be enough to get me through until April as all 32 valves and both sets of injectors got a nice winter workout. Unfortunately, the end is nye for now--we are expecting 2-4" of the white stuff tomorrow. Sorry to be a doom and gloomer but as a New England lifer I can't recall (a common problem these days) any stretch of winter weather quite like this before. I mean playing baseball with the kids in late January in shorts and t's is just wrong.

We have the same wrong weather hear in Iowa. Not complaining .
All you have to remember is we always pay one way or the other. The question is always, when. We have Feb. and March to go. It still could get ugly. The really good part is , it can't last long at this point in time. :upthumbs

I washed the “KING” early last week, Made a run into Sacramento. I had a terrible vibration, so took it in to have the wheel balance checked. The left side was fine, the right side was way off. On the way home most of the vibration was gone, but now a “clunk” when I accelerate. We had some good weather the last couple of days, but the “KING” was up on the jack stands getting his “U” joints changed and a fluid transfusion. Tomorrow we go for a test drive (weather permitting) Getting ready for a run to Daytona in late Feb. early March.

I feel your pain but......
Just rubbin' it in Inirenberg. My wife is from Fall River and shares your birthday (different year). Sorry about the bad weather. We are cool but clear here today. Boy does the KING like 40º air.
Here is hoping for a short winter:)

I hear ya !
Though she didn't get a cleanin', i pulled her out Sunday and drove around (covered a bunch of miles in half the time it usually takes).. After i got home, the wife said: Looks like you had a good time. I explained to her where i went and she only said: Wow, that usually takes double the time.. ;)
Almost got a support your local pd card too.. As i was accelerating and hit 75+, i had a Statey pull out of a driveway, but apparently he went for coffee at the local diner and didn't bother with me (Thanks Officer!). Even my neighbor commented, saying that she saw me out with it and when i ran over to her house to drop something off, i couldn't help it and take the car..
Back in the garage, all cozy.. Once we get the real spring, I'll pull her out to clean her up.. :)
Cant wait !!

No washing, but just a little dusting now and then since it's tucked away in my heated garage. However, I can't leave the car alone - I installed direct inputs to the stero system for my IPOD and XM ROADY2. Now I just have to flip a switch between the two.

I am fairly gadget oriented but I hit the technological wall at MP3. I just burn mixed song CDs and am off to the races. My daily ride has XM and that usually keeps me occupied. I am actually thankful that I have my car stored elsewhere as I fear that I would be tempted to tinker where tinkering could only get me in trouble. A little snow today finally time to sharpen the skis and wile away the time until true spring arrives.
