1991 CORVETTE ORIGINAL HARDTOP WILL FIT A 1984 THRU 1996 CORVETTE

I would like to inquire about the flexibility of being able to add a hard top to my 91 roadster, My interpretation is that if I lower my convertable top, the hard top will fit the exsisting deck lid pins and lock in with the latches on the windsheild bow, Is there straps that mount from the sides that require a need to be affixed, If anyone knows if this will fit the convertable deck lid? and affix to the exsisting configuration, I would greatly appreciate your valued knowledge on this.

It should fit in the same places as your soft top does. That is my understanding on how the hardtops work for our verts.

The hard top fits in place of the soft top and also they have mounting hardware and tools for installing and removing the hardtop!

Yes that's right if you buy a hard top, make sure the brackets and the bolts come with it! You will also need a tiny wrench to secure the bolts to the decklid holes, I just used a craftsman ratcheting box end wrench from sears. Also if your car did not come with the ht option and you want to use the rear defroster, you may have to hook up a drivers side pigtail, oddly enough on my car the passenger side pigtail was there but the drivers side wasn't, my understanding is the non-ht-option cars came from the factory that way. I was able to get the pigtail from the dealer, but one of those things where I had to buy a box of 10.

You will need a T40 socket for the bracket bolts. The front windshield pillar bolts are already in the car and are also T40. For the two bolts that will be in the rear deck locating pins, you will need an 8mm or 5/16" ratcheting box end wrench.

Make sure the B-pillar brackets come with the top!! These brackets connect the B-pillars to the enclosed halo bar in the top. The rear locator pins and the small bolts inside them do nothing more than snug the top down to provide a good water seal to the decklid. They do not provide any clamping force to the car. The owner's manual states to not drive the car with the hardtop on the car without installing the B-pillar brackets.

To answer your original question.
The hardtop will fit a 89-96 Vert by using the factory brackets.
The hardtop can be made to fit an 86-88 Vert. however, it will take a little work.

In 1984-85 Chevy did not make a Vert.

I feel lucky that I stumbled my CC2 1995, I had to find a hard top to replace the missing one. (I am anal about missing crap) I was even luckier in finding an Arctic White Hard top.

If you get a hardtop make sure it has all of the factory mounting hardware, if it doesn't, you can spend a couple of hundred dollars procuring all of the mounting hardware.
