Default ZR1 style rims supplier evaluation

Hi,

After some search at the internet I found at lakeshore wheel and tire that they sell 4 ZR1 style rims (17x9,5) for 550 dollars. In my opinion these are one of the cheapest overall. Does anybody have any idea what the quality of these rims are? Is the fitment ok? Are they nice finished etc. etc.

Thank already..

I actually looked at their wheels before. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't really say what the poduct was. as in if they were clear coated, powder coated and what kind of maintenance was needed. That was about a month ago I looked at their site so It might have changed. I don't know about quality as i've never bought anything from them. But $550 sounds like a dang good price!

aluminum comes in many alloys, many ways to manufacture

for show cars not driven, looks are all that matters...but wheels have been known to break when driven, especially if driven 'spiritedly'...its your car and your neck---who do you trust ?

Heheh, I think about this too. My car came with AFS wheels, and I'd like to get real a-molds at some point to replace them for this reason, a known level of endurance that they had to meet. However, mine are from back when AFS wheels were at least made in the US, so I like to think there is a certain minimum level of quality there...

Wheels that break down? Aha... yeah well that's something we in Europe don't calculate with. Everything sold here needs to be CE certified which means that's it's extensively tested and approved. I thought that it is the same in the US with UL approvals? Or is this not completely true?

The UL is Underwriters Laboratory. I believe they mostly test electronics. However, it is all voluntary. I'm not aware of any standard wheels have to meet?
