Does anyone have installation experience with a ProCharger on a 91 L98?

No personal experience but I just read an article I think in GM High Tech Performance about a guy in Nevada who runs 170 MPH in the road races out there with an intercooled Procharger and no block mods. Its got over 100K miles on it.

Never did a 91 but put one on my 89

It took me a while to enter my seat again! How much horsepower does it produce? Was it easy to install? The charger I mean.. the NOS I am somewhat more familliar with...

The article is in the May 2005 issue of GM High Tech Performance on page 12. I don't have the magazine. I read it at my local Vette Specialist - Corvette Connection while they were installing a used set of ZR-1 wheels and Goodyear tires on my car. I called them and asked for the info. www.GMhightechperformance.com is the website. Maybe you can get a back issue.

My first system was a P600B kit from Procharger. It takes some time to do the install but for someone mechanically inclined it is not difficult.
My current setup was a lot more difficult. Procharger told me that I could not install the D1-R it would not fit under the hood and they said it had never been done before. Since I did mine two years ago and posted about it on the corvette Forum I know of another person who has done it but it requires building a custom intercooler fabricating brackets and custom tuning.
How difficult it is and how many $$$$$$ depends on what your goals are as to HP. Do you plan on installing a system that has bee engineered for your car or going custom.

I did expect some difficulties, I just didn't want any major surprises. What about installation of the intercooler? does the suspension need to get modified? All that Crap and A/C too, in close formation. "that is cool".

No modifications to the suspension are necessary.
Like I said in early post if you plan on using stock factory system the install is not that hard. But for me to give you definitive answers I need to know what your goals are for power and the use of the car. When you try to increase the boost over about 7 lbs then you need to have all forged parts in the engine. You will see ads for 12lb pulley but what they don't tell you is with the 6 rib belt you won't see the 12lbs. because of belt slip.If you look close at the pictures of my engine you will see that I have made 8 rib pulleys for the crank-water pump power steering alternator AC and the blower.
I have been building and driving Turbo and Blower Motors since 1976 I can help you with anything that you need to know but to give you accurate info I have to know what your goals are because that will alter the way you approach this project. Be honest with yourself because boost is addicting once you have it you want more. Theirs nothing like driving a high winding engine with boost. Several pieces that come in the kits need to be thrown away and replaced with much better component's when you start pursuing higher boost. What kit did you have in mind.

With these kits some items may need upgraded depending on how much boost you want to run. Do you have the stock pistons in your current engine that you intend to boost.

Here is the scenario, I travel frequently on the highways here in So CAL, and if anyone needs quick response at 65 MPH it is us. Otherwise our ability to change lanes with clean crisp accelerated response is somewhat sluggish. I am certain that this is reasonable cause to install the Procharger.

I overlooked you live on the left coast. That opens up a whole new can of worms. You will need a carb certified system.
Procharger states that most of their systems are 50 state legal but don't say which ones are. Go to www.procharger.com click on models read and decide what system that you want and call them to see if it is carb approved.
You can also call blower works and ask if their kit is OK in cal.
Boy I'm glad I don't have to deal with the smog BS if I came to California they probably would put my car on a flatbed train car and ship it out of state rather than allow me to drive it.

Thats really cool but he is only making 700 hp.
He needs a good procharger on that puppy.
With that big a shot of nitrous I hope he has a forged crack in that thing. If he don't it is not long for this world.
