How luckey are we
So today,I just had a misserable day,I mean from start to finish it was brutal.
I come in the the front door and there a puffy back envolope from upstate New York by the front door. I open it up and its a corvette news from August/September 1976 with an excellent article on restoring a 1962 vette sent to me by one of our members Mailmaninavette. Roy a sincere thank you it made my day. Silly as it seams its nice to know you have freinds thinking about you. I only met Roy once and it was the day I picked up my 62 vette,Roy was the fellow who put me in touch with the seller.
Thanks Again Roy for everything.
Not to sound to mushy but I still think back to corvettes of Carlilse and think how relaxing it was sitting by 67 heavens car in the grass just shooting the breeze, sitting behind my car with Doug just BS-ing like we knew each other forever.I am luckey to have you guys as freinds.
Thanks to all of you

Hi Larry,
Sorry to hear that you had a real brutal day. At least you had a very bright spot in the day!
My feeling on the Corvette hobby can be summed up as follows...........
This hobby is vast and far reaching. It transcends the levels of economic difference, distance, language, race and age. It rises above rules, traditions and trends. While the Corvettes are the focal point, this hobby is all about the people. If fibreglass is the passion of the hobby, then friends are the soul enriching bonding agent that holds it all together.
Take care,
Brian

I certainly share your views Brian, but rather then " bonding agent " it should read " bonding adhesive " .
BTW, I finally found a Canadian source for the bonding adhesive ( the exact same " Axson " brand that the US suppliers sell us ) so it will no longer be necessary to go through the shipping problems ( it's considered " HazMat" ) that we now must live with. Here is their link http://www.polymerestechnologies.com/EN/home.html they also have a lot of other automobile related products.

I had mentioned to Sharon the other week, wouldn't it be great if Larry, Bob, Doug, Barry, etc, etc lived across the street or next door or down the road....her reply was NO, I would never see you again, all of you would just move into the garage!
Seriously....it would be awesome.....I get excited when everyone shares what they are doing and it motivates me to keep driving on mine.....we are lucky....

Well put Larry. You certainly are a great group of people here at CAC, and I'm still sorry I missed Carlisle.

Larry, you are so right!
the people on this forum and the support they give is just incredible.
For me, the absolute highlight at Carlisle this year was getting to meet so many of you and than having everyone here to count on when I have (many) questions about my car or if I just need to rant and vent.
Even non-car related stuff gets a lot of support. When I mentioned that Linda was pregnant the amount of responses, PM's and emails was incredible and afterwards......... well, that same thing.
I consider everyone of you friends and the thing i'm personally looking forward to for the next Carlisle is not only seeing everyone I got to meet this year again, but also meeting many others I didn't get to meet.
Linda and I have mentioned to each other many times that as much as we love our Corvette, the best thing about the car and that was completely unexpected, was the number of GREAT people we have had the opportunity to meet and get to know because of it, whether that be in person or online or both.

It is all of us who are lucky here Larry. I know just the people I've met so far and talked to from the CAC have given me very fond memories and I've only been to a couple of events. Most of you travel to shows and attend local club gatherings etc so your contact is tenfold. LUCKY for all of you! It is a great group of friendly people with a common interest and from what I've experienced so far you will find it very hard to find a more giving group anywhere. Like you Larry, I'm extremely thankful to have met you and all the others and only wish I'd met all of you years ago. (A special thanks to Bob for introducing me to the CAC and the fun of corvettes. I really enjoy how everyone continues to keep in touch in between events.
Thanks to all you who post their projects and let us experience it with you and to all those characters who make this site fun as well as informative.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you and good health for the New Year!
