Default indicator light

I just got my '06 C-6 coupe a couple of weeks ago. Anyways, while checking the car out more thorouhly, I noticed an indicator light (orange/yellow) above the passenger visor. It is intergrated into the mount. I went and asked the dealer about the light and what it was for. I stumped them. They told me they would call BG about it. They told me that BG was also stumped and would call the MFG. I still have not got a reply back from the dealer. It just seems to be alittle wierd for a light to be at that location. Any ideas?

Default Help is on the way... soon?

Hi rdm,

I can't help you with your indicator light issue but I posted in the site help forum to ask an admin about moving this thread to the C6 section ( hope you don't mind) where it would draw the attention it deserves!

Hopefully someone will be along soon that can answer your question. And welcome to the CAC!

Hey, RDM1465,
Welcome to the

I don't have an answer to your question, but I'll bet some of the folks who frequent our C6 Discussion Forums probably do. So I'm going to move this thread for you. Hang on- you won't feel a thing.

Forgive what? We've got regular members who've been here years inadvertantly posting in an incorrect forum. That's what your friendly staff of Mods and Admins is here for.

I will say that I think CoolHandLuke's suggestion of a picture to show us what you're describing is a good one. If you need help posting pics, we've got a very good thread in the Site Help & Feedback Forum that can walk you through the process, and you can always post a message in that forum if you have questions.

CLICK HERE for the help with posting pictures thread.

I can't believe the Owners manual does not address this light. I know that the manual is something that people rarely read from end to end but I suspect the answer will be in the book. If not I am sure the answer will be provided by the expert advice always available on the .

I have the same thing in my 05. I really can't figure it out. I latched and unlatched the roof panel and it doesn't matter...it stays on. When you shut the car down and the inside lights go off that light also goes off. I never noticed it until I read this posting.

I think it maybe it could be an illumination for the passenger side, much like the light under the rear view mirror, that’s used to illuminant the shifter and center console on the C-5
Just a guess.

Maybe, I should have been more explicit. I did wonder about the top and checked it over a few times to be sure. And no that wasn't it. So did the dealership. Then I thought maybe something about a passenger air bag thing. Nope. Now I am beginning to think maybe it has something to do in regards with the lights. Mine acts as you describe Lucy. but, still a weird place for an indicator light for anything.

Thanks for the responces folks.

oh, yeah, there is no mention of it in the manual anywhere.

My second hunch is an Air Bag Ready Light...Perhaps it functions if their is no problem with the airbag...or if you can turn the air bag on and off its an indicator...Just an uneducated guess.

Switching the passanger airbag on/off does not change this light. At least on my 05. Wonder what it does mean.
