Default Need suggestion on where to purchase a rear bumper for a 1975

Hello folks I normally spend my time in the C1/C2 section.

I was at a customers home today,he had a 1975 corvette convertable when I arrived he was test fitting a ecklers replacement bumper to his car. needless to say it did not match up very well. He then explained he is supposed to have a rubber one but his is starting to crack and he cant find a replacement rubber one.

Any suggestions on where i can send him to find a correct one for his car?

I am just trying to help out a fellow vette guy

Thanks Again.

http://www.acivette.com ACI in Toledo makes much of the Fiberglass parts sold by the catalog companys Our local club took a tour several years ago and it was explained to us that since the C3 and earlier vettes were pretty much built by hand the bodys varied quite a bit. ACI makes their bumpers to the median size and they must be fitted to the body shape. Some requireing filling on the body side while others fill on the bumper.
we were showed a couple of cars they were working on to illustrate it.

Thank you all we have him going in the correct direction now.

Funny but I meet folks all the time who are into collector cars and just cant be bothered with an online forum because they feel its a waste of time.

This fellow I met yesteday has been searching for a bumper for the last 6 months, with his only option he could find was an ecklers hand laid fiberglass cover. that doesnt fit correctly.

I post here and he has a couple of cgood options to decide from

Thanks Again

Larry, even if he found a brand-new original still in a sealed box, that's the last thing he'd want; the urethane ages very badly and would probably disintegrate removing it from the box. He has to select from the various types of new replacement aftermarket units.
