Default head mod question

Currently running an LT1 with a "Hot Cam" and looking at some possible head options. I want to keep the stock heads so looking at getting another set of for the upgrade, should I go with another set of LT1's ported or will LT4 ported heads add evough to justify cost for them and the Intake.

Im not sure the LT4 intake is that much different than the LT1. It may be opened up some. The heads were the major difference between the two. You might want to check out AFR (Air Flow Research) they make some aftermarket heads for the LT1/4 cars that flow better. Their prices are pretty reasonable also.

If you go LT4 heads you must use LT4 intake. I got ported and polished AFR's from TPIS for $1850. I am starting my job next week.

Please let me know how it goes. I am looking for a good street head that won't make it a pain in traffic. Thanks for the info!

CNC ported heads from a reputable supplier or cylinder head shop is the way to go. Any time you can open the heads up with a good CNC program with good valves in nice tight guides and good three angle properly blended valve seats and springs set up to handle your cam and intended RPM will result in a big horsepower increase.

Regards, Greg
