My Corvette(s):
1986 White coupe
Default loose steering column

Hey guys,
I've just put my 86 in the garage for the winter to do some needed work. My sterring column is very loose, I can move it up and down & side to side, I've heard that the mounting screws have loosened up, does anyone have a link or some instruction as to how to step by step fix this?
Thanks for any help
Gary

Below are a few links to fix it...I took my column out of the car, it only takes a few minutes to do so, and sent it out to these people. They turned it around in less then 24 hours. Their are lots of little parts that need to go back in correctly...so I just sent it out. http://columnsgalore.com/

There is a pair of cap screws/bolts which attach the column to a bracket which holds the column in place. Remove the 5 screws that hold the carpeted piece on the underside of the dash. You can see the heads of the bolts. Check to see if they have worked loose. I think you will need a 15 mm socket to tighten them.
