Default SWCDuke's alignment specs handy?

Am hoping for an alignment this weekend (maybe) and can't seem to find the mid-year specs quickly. Any body have them handy? Thanks.

Steve

Steve
I got these from JohnZ last summer before I had my '65 aligned. The specs are for use with radial tires.

REAR:
zero to 1/2-degree negative camber, and 1/16" total toe-in, split equally across the thrust centerline (1/32" per side, exactly).
***Rear toe is the most critical setting on the whole car, particularly getting it evenly split to both sides across the thrust centerline.
FRONT:
zero camber, 2.5 degrees positive caster, and zero-to-1/16" total toe-in.
***note: on the caster, 2.5 is perfect for good tracking and returnability but increases static steering effort. 1.5 – 1.75 is a better setting with manual steering.

you would be best off ordering in the proper shims from someplace like LICS, Paragon, etc rather than expecting the alignment shop to have them in stock because they probably won't have them.
When ordering the shims, order the SLOT shims, not the hole shims unless you want your alignment man to get very p*ssed off at you.

Barry - thanks for the info. Already was prepared with the proper rear shims. Been following your progress. Let me tell you that the buffing makes all the difference. I have just finished mine - after many hours - but what a difference. Absolutely minimal orange peel - lots of shine. it killed me to hit it with sand paper after the paint job.

Steve, that's why I pay someone else to do it.
If i was doing the sanding and saw what it did to that new glossy finish I would have freaked out. I still do a bit looking at it wetsanded down. Hard to believe the buffing brings it all back but i suppose it does.

good luck with your alignment

Hey Steve, you going to be at Carlisle this year? Sounds like you may be done in time.

Paul - would like to say yes but, after Bonnie having her third major surgery since we met up with you last year, the Corvette work is fit in on a not too regular basis. I am coming down the home stretch. Working on getting all the electronics back in operation then on to all exterior trim. How are things on the home front? Send me an e-mail if you want.

Steve, nothing too personal to discuss here. Everything is back to normal, actually much better. Really helped me get back on track with all the projects. House is in the middle of a remodel, car is all put together. It's virtually mechanically brand new and needs a good long trip. Still needs body work, paint and interior, but after not being able to enjoy the ride for almost 2 years, I'm driving it as it is.
I'll be at Carlisle and the car will probably be the ugly duckling in the C2 registry compound compared to some of the beauties that will be there, but I don't care. I may be able to find some good deals on stuff I need (like A/C) and I really want to see the efforts of all the guys that really did some incredible work over the past year.
I even talked the wife into driving the support vehicle towing the camper. We'll be staying at a local campground about 3 miles from the fairgrounds. Killing 2 birds with one stone... Car stuff for me and a getaway vacation for the 2 of us.
If things work out for you, and you car's not done yet, maybe you can still make it as an observer. Be great seeing you again.
