Alan,
I saw this episode Sunday morning- but I had not seen this thread prior to watching it, so it was a nice little surprise to hear one of CAC's Vendors get a nice plug. It looked like it was quite nice little upgrade to "Project Stink-ray."

While I'm pleased Horsepower TV is finally working on a Corvette as a project car, this particular car appears to need a lot of work. I mean, I think in the first episode, where they were showing the car in it's "existing condition," it looked to me like the interior needed an exterminator with all those spider webs hanging around. And as for the way the body looks... ugh!

I'll be keeping an eye on that show in upcoming episodes to see what else they do to breathe life back into that Stingray.

Wish I could find one in that condition so I wouldn't have to pay so much for the "bones" of a project. There would be no question about what needs replaced, everything! You could build a real beater out of it and not worry about bending a pristine restored car. Don't know if I would even paint it. Might surprise a few people.

As a long time watcher of this show, I suspect it will be nice ride when they are done, if there other project cars are any indication.

Thanks all,

I had actually never seen this show before. I'm either at VBP working like crazy or at home (working like crazy) with my kids so I don't get to watch much TV. The show really displayed our products well. What you see is really what you get.

The installation, while mostly correct, was very sugar coated. While our parts do bolt on very easily, taking (in some cases original) parts off is another story. These cars have had the same chassis setup back to 1963. I would hate to take all that stuff off a 43-year-old car.

I personally had an awful time getting all the old stuff off my ’78. I swore I would pay someone next time because I think every bolt was rusted and every bushing shot on my car! That was the down side.

The up side was that my old, beat ’78 handles like it’s on rails and rides great. Of course the other added benefit is that I didn’t have to pay for the parts...

Talk 2 U-all L8r.
Sincerely,
Alan G.
