Default Z06 exhaust upgrade question

I intend to upgrade my 02 Z06 exhaust system to gain both sound and some power. If I installed long tube headers, would there still be any advantage in also installing somethine like a Corsa Exhaust with respect to power and/or sound? The same question vice versa; if install the corsa exhaust, would there still be advantage to the headers?

What has been people's experience with long tube headers and their Z06 or C5? Did you notice an increase in sound and power? Are they worth the money (LG long tube headers cost $1,500)? Any long term problems?

Hang in there, Hitman... I don't have long tube headers, so I can't contribute much to the discussion, but I'm sure a number of our members have, and will be along shortly to answer your question.

I have headers on my 87, and it definetly made a difference.

I have not installed headers, either. I have read some discussion here, however. I think most people who have done this also install high flow cats and some type of aftermarket X pipe. It is best to do the exhaust as a system, rather than piecemeal. I am sure that others will chime in here, too.
